Ladipo Johnson, the spokesperson for Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, recently revealed that Peter Obi, the Nigeria Democratic Congress presidential candidate, is displeased with the ongoing leadership friction within the OK Movement. Speaking on Arise Television, Johnson conceded that although internal strain exists, these challenges will not compromise the coalition’s strategic goals for the 2027 general elections.
Johnson characterized the internal disputes as a fleeting hurdle, urging followers to prioritize the growth of the Obi-Kwankwaso alliance rather than succumbing to factionalism. He cautioned that impulsive, individual actions could damage the unity required to support their shared political vision. According to Johnson, the root of the issue lies in disagreements between the movement’s rank-and-file and its current leadership.
He confirmed that Obi has been updated on these developments and finds the current state of affairs regrettable. Johnson remains optimistic that the situation is manageable, provided that supporters refocus their energy on expanding the movement’s national reach. The OK Movement was specifically formed to galvanize support for a potential Obi-Kwankwaso ticket in the upcoming 2027 presidential race.
