John McGuigan, chairman of Scottish Rugby Limited, confirmed the immediate termination, stating that the decision followed an independent investigation into issues raised earlier this year. The board determined that Williamson’s actions failed to meet the organization’s established standards. In the interim, chief financial officer David White will assume leadership duties while the governing body launches a new search for a permanent successor.
