Following the match, the Newport native expressed that he recognized his opponent’s vulnerability to the backhand and acted decisively.
Alongside Holley-Sotomi, Rosie Eccles, Owain Harris-Allan, and Connor Williams all advanced to the semi-finals. Eccles, a former Commonwealth gold medalist, is competing in her final games and aims to secure a third career medal. Harris-Allan, who claimed bronze in Birmingham, continues to show confidence as he chases a top-podium finish. Meanwhile, Swansea’s Williams has experienced a swift ascent since joining the elite program last year and remains highly optimistic about his chances against Northern Ireland’s Garyn McAllister.
