Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady of Nigeria, distributed a total of N50 million to 1,000 small-scale traders in Ile-Ife, Osun State, through her Renewed Hope Initiative. This event, which took place at the Ooni’s Palace in Kensington Hall, provided each recipient with a N50,000 grant intended to boost their commercial operations.

Representing the First Lady, Alhaja Kudirat Fakokunde, who serves as the APC Women Leader in Osun, advised the traders to utilize the funds carefully. The initiative is aimed at bolstering the financial health and household stability of the participants. Dr. Sekinat Oyebamiji, wife of the local APC governorship candidate, echoed this sentiment, urging the business owners to focus on expansion.

During the event, Mrs. Kafayat Oyetola, spouse of Minister Adegboyega Oyetola, called upon the community to back the APC candidate in the upcoming August 15 election and support President Bola Tinubu for the 2027 cycle. The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, commended the program as a well-timed effort to improve local living standards and demonstrate the government’s dedication to assisting the vulnerable. He further emphasized that all eligible traders would receive the grant and encouraged them to manage the capital productively.
