Arsenal right-back Jurrien Timber has left the club’s training base in Spain to return to London. The move is connected to a groin injury that previously sidelined him during the most recent World Cup.
Despite this return to England, insiders maintain that the trip is a pre-planned part of his recovery program rather than an indication of a new setback. The Dutch international, who was a key figure in Arsenal’s Premier League title win last season by starting 30 matches, is expected to rejoin his teammates in Spain shortly.
Timber arrived at the Emirates from Ajax in July 2023 for a £34m fee but spent much of his debut season recovering from an ACL injury. The team is currently preparing for the Community Shield match against Manchester City on August 16, followed by their league opener against Coventry City on August 21.
