West Indies all-rounder Justin Greaves produced a remarkable bowling performance on the third day of the opening Test against Pakistan, taking five wickets for zero runs. The 32-year-old from Barbados, appearing in his 17th Test match, achieved his first-ever five-wicket haul at the international level to help bowl Pakistan out for 282, trailing the West Indies’ initial total of 311.
This achievement was particularly notable because Greaves had earlier bowled six overs for 27 runs without success. He credited the encouragement of captain Roston Chase for his newfound discipline, which allowed the ball to move effectively and secure breakthroughs. His victims included Pakistan skipper Shan Masood, who was bowled for 109, followed by Aamer Jamal, Ali Usman, Mohammed Rizwan, and Mohammad Abbas. This spell saw Pakistan lose their final seven wickets for only 38 runs. By the end of the day, the West Indies reached 126-7 in their second innings, holding a lead of 155 runs.
