Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has committed to finishing eight to ten essential road projects throughout the region by the conclusion of this year. During a site inspection on Monday, the minister reaffirmed his commitment to the residents of the FCT.
Wike noted his approval of the current progress on both the Apo–Karshi and Bwari–Kubwa road links. Addressing concerns regarding political cycles, he emphasized that government operations remain ongoing under President Bola Tinubu’s directives, rejecting any notion that projects should be delayed.
The Apo–Karshi project, which stalled for over a decade after its 2010 inception, is now advancing under a new contractor. Regarding the Bwari–Kubwa road, Wike admitted that workers face significant geographical challenges but warned them against requesting deadline extensions. He promised that the administration will prioritize funding to ensure construction stays on track before the arrival of heavy seasonal rains.
