Lauren Bell secures nail-biting finish for Southern Brave

Lauren Bell bowled a decisive final set to earn Southern Brave a last-ball victory over MI London, keeping her team undefeated in The Hundred.

Lauren Bell demonstrated composure under pressure as Southern Brave narrowly defeated MI London on the final ball, extending their perfect record in The Hundred. With eight runs needed from the last five deliveries, Bell stifled the MI chase, leaving them one run short of Brave’s 126-7 total.

Danni Wyatt-Hodge anchored the MI response with an unbeaten 52, yet could not secure the boundary required from the final delivery. The victory keeps Southern Brave at the top of the table with three straight wins, while MI London remains without a victory.

Southern Brave’s innings was highlighted by Maia Bouchier’s aggressive 31 and a 60-run partnership between Laura Wolvaardt and Jemimah Rodrigues. However, Hayley Matthews limited their momentum by claiming 4-22. During the chase, Matthews provided an early spark with 32, but tight bowling from Issy Wong and Sophie Molineux built decisive pressure. Despite Wyatt-Hodge’s effort, the required target proved just out of reach in the closing moments.
