Ajax nears agreement for Wolves forward Tolu Arokodare

Ajax is close to finalizing a loan deal for Wolves striker Tolu Arokodare, featuring a £17 million option to buy and full wage coverage.

Ajax is nearing a deal to acquire striker Tolu Arokodare from Wolves. Reports from Sky Sports indicate that both teams have settled on an initial loan arrangement, which includes a purchase option valued at £17 million. Arokodare is scheduled to complete his medical examination with the Dutch side tomorrow.

The 25-year-old previously drew attention after allegedly forcing the suspension of a practice session by declining to exit the field. Seeking an exit from Wolves, Arokodare saw earlier offers from Trabzonspor and Fiorentina turned down during the summer transfer window. Consequently, the Nigerian international was excluded from the club’s pre-season camp in Portugal.

As part of the transfer, Ajax will assume responsibility for the player’s entire salary throughout the season, while Wolves will collect a £1 million loan payment. Furthermore, additional performance-related bonuses will be paid to Wolves should Ajax qualify for European league stages.
