Ifeanyi Ejiofor Breaks Silence Following Termination as Nnamdi Kanu’s Counsel

Ifeanyi Ejiofor has responded to his dismissal as Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer, claiming he exercised years of restraint despite facing persistent threats and professional defamation.

Legal professional Ifeanyi Ejiofor has responded to the decision by Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, to dismiss him as his personal lawyer. This development follows a formal letter dated July 22, sent from the Sokoto Correctional Centre, in which Kanu instructed Ejiofor to cease all representation and warned against leaking confidential information.

In a social media statement, Ejiofor expressed that he has maintained composure despite years of facing threats, defamation, and organized blackmail from Kanu. The attorney stated that he endured accusations regarding his professional integrity and personal life while adhering to legal ethics, choosing not to retaliate publicly.

Ejiofor addressed the sudden focus on client confidentiality, suggesting it arose only when Kanu feared potential evidence regarding a defamation case might surface. He denied any intention to breach professional privilege, dismissing the termination letter as a document produced by those acting in a state of panic. While he questioned the motives behind the sudden warning, Ejiofor emphasized that he remains bound by his professional responsibilities. He concluded by hinting that the full context of these events remains undisclosed, warning that the current situation will eventually reach a turning point.
