After missing the cut two weeks ago for the first time in 78 events, Scheffler finished as the runner-up to rookie Jackson Koivun at the 3M Open this past Sunday. This raises questions about whether the 30-year-old has moved past his peak performance or if his trademark consistency will soon lead to more victories.
Historically, Scheffler has been a dominant front-runner, with three-quarters of his 20 tour wins occurring when he held the lead heading into the final day. This season, however, he has struggled to secure the lead going into Sunday, frequently playing catch-up. While he remains a highly skilled player, minor inconsistencies in his putting or slow starts in opening rounds have often hindered his ability to close out events.
Despite the lack of wins, Scheffler continues to dominate the FedEx Cup rankings and maintains a significant gap as the world number one. With 11 top-five finishes in 17 starts this year, including five runner-up spots, his statistical output remains superior to his peers.
