Jos Buttler delivered a remarkable performance, scoring 90 runs off 50 balls to guide the Manchester Super Giants to a dominant 87-run victory over the Birmingham Phoenix at Emirates Old Trafford. This result keeps the Super Giants unbeaten in the current Hundred competition.
Building on his recent form, the England wicketkeeper hit seven fours and five sixes, helping his team reach a total of 187-5. Despite losing teammates Tim Seifert and Aiden Markram early, Buttler remained composed and reached his half-century in just 31 balls. Tom Moores provided valuable support with an unbeaten 39 from 17 balls.
The Birmingham Phoenix struggled significantly in their response. Josh Tongue set the tone by taking two wickets in consecutive balls, dismissing Will Smeed and Rehan Ahmed. Liam Dawson further hampered the visitors by taking 3-15. Although captain Donovan Ferreira top-scored with 23, the Phoenix were bowled out for 100 runs, marking their first defeat of the season.
