Over the last three weeks, the cost of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) has trended downward across several Nigerian regions. A recent analysis by DAILY POST indicates that prices in Abuja have fallen to approximately N1,300 per kilogram, marking a decrease from the previous rate of N1,450.
Specific filling stations such as Shafa, Ranoil, and AP Ardova in Abuja are currently offering LPG at N1,300, N1,350, and N1,400 respectively, a notable shift from the earlier range of N1,450 to N1,500. Furthermore, depot operators have lowered their rates to between N997 and N1,030 per kilogram, down from a peak of N1,100.
Retail outlets located in Gwarimpa, Lugbe, Dawaki, and Kubwa have also adjusted their pricing, currently charging N1,500 per kilogram compared to the former price of N1,700. This downward trend is largely attributed to an increase in LPG imports. Reports from the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) highlight that daily LPG imports climbed significantly to 1.5 kilotonnes during June 2026.
