The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially declared that the current Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) process concludes today. Officials are calling on all eligible citizens to finalize their enrollment or modify existing records before the window shuts.
Through an official message on X, the commission reiterated that the registration covers new applicants, those seeking to transfer their polling units, individuals needing to correct personal data, and citizens requiring replacements for missing or broken Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs). INEC emphasized that the opportunity to participate remains open until the end of today, Sunday, 26 July 2026.
Interested voters can complete their registration via the official online portal or by visiting designated state or local government INEC offices. The commission highlighted that this step is essential for anyone wishing to cast a ballot in the upcoming general election.
Previously, INEC had granted a two-week extension to the nationwide exercise to accommodate more voters for the 2027 electoral cycle. This follows a multi-phase registration timeline that began in August 2025, which saw millions of successful registrations across the country over several months.
