The Ogun State Police Command has detained 16 individuals and secured various stolen goods, including vehicles and vandalized equipment, as part of its ongoing Operation KOSAYE. These enforcement actions occurred between July 12 and July 21, 2026, targeting crimes such as fuel theft, infrastructure damage, burglary, and child defilement.
Police spokesperson DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi confirmed that the operation followed directives from Commissioner of Police Bode Ojajuni, aligned with national intelligence-led policing standards. On July 21, the SWAT unit dismantled an illegal diesel bunkering operation in Abule-Iroko, arresting Kabiru Afolabi and seizing fuel drums, jerry cans, and pumping equipment.
Additional breakthroughs included the arrest of Nnabike Uzolo and Chino Mgbenya for sabotaging telecommunications infrastructure in Ota. In other separate incidents, police took several suspects into custody for residential burglaries, vehicle theft, and receiving stolen property across various divisions including Ajuwon and Agbado. Notably, Saliu Akinwande was apprehended by Agbado detectives for the alleged defilement of an 11-year-old girl and is currently facing further investigation.
Furthermore, officers successfully recovered a hijacked truck laden with construction materials near the Benin-Ore Expressway after suspects fled into the wilderness. CP Ojajuni praised the force’s dedication and emphasized that the command remains focused on community-based intelligence and active patrolling to maintain public safety.
