Billionaire media mogul Oprah Winfrey has denied claims that she was paid $1 million to assist Vice President Kamala Harris by hosting a star-studded town hall event in September.

Oprah was questioned by a reporter in the picturesque town of Santa Barbara about the alleged payment.

‘Not true’ she said when asked about the alleged payment. ‘I was paid nothing. Ever.’

The talk show legend initially made it clear she didn’t want to discuss President-elect Trump’s landslide victory, firmly stating, “I’m not talking about the election.”

Winfrey’s Harpo Productions was reportedly paid $1 million by the Harris campaign on October 15 after she hosted the event.

According to a Financial Times analysis, the Harris campaign spent a total of $1.2 billion on the race, while Trump’s campaign spent $750 million. Some believe Harris’s spending could have been even higher.

Harris’s campaign reportedly spent six figures to create the set for her October appearance on the popular podcast Call Her Daddy, where she sat down with host Alex Cooper. The campaign allegedly invested a six figure amount into designing the very beige set for her brief appearance on the show.

Harris’s podcast appearance was filmed in a hotel room in Washington, D.C., with crews constructing the set to replicate Cooper’s actual set  in Los Angeles.

The Harris campaign, along with affiliated PACs and the Democratic National Committee (DNC), raised over $2.3 billion in political contributions. In total, they raised nearly $4.2 billion, spending about $3.5 billion on the presidential race, making it the most expensive in history.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump’s team, PACs, and the Republican National Committee raised $1.8 billion, though it’s still unclear how that money was allocated.

Harris’s campaign and its affiliates spent over $654 million from July to Election Day, significantly outpacing Trump’s campaign, which spent $378 million—57% less than Harris.

One notable expense was Village Marketing Agency, which was paid over $3.9 million to recruit social media influencers to enhance Harris’s online presence.

Event production also accounted for a large portion of the campaign’s spending. For example, the campaign hosted high-profile figures like Lady Gaga and Katy Perry on the eve of the election.

According to federal filings, the campaign paid more than $15 million to companies for such event production services.
