By analyzing 199 passports against 227 global destinations using IATA data, the report highlights which citizens enjoy the most freedom of movement. While many African countries saw their mobility increase, Nigeria did not qualify for the top 10 list, ranking 90th globally with access to only 44 destinations. The Gambia ranks 10th, providing access to 70 locations, supported by its role in ECOWAS. Similarly, Kenya also offers access to 70 destinations, bolstered by its status as a major regional aviation and economic hub. Eswatini and Morocco both allow entry to 71 destinations, while Lesotho follows with 73. Namibia claims the sixth spot with 74 accessible countries, benefiting from strong governance. Botswana ranks fifth with 81 destinations due to its long-term political stability. South Africa continues to lead the mainland with access to 101 locations. Finally, Mauritius and Seychelles remain the continent’s leaders, with Mauritius providing access to 148 destinations and Seychelles topping the list with 155 visa-free or visa-on-arrival options.
