The 59-year-old former Liverpool manager, who signed a four-year contract on Friday, replaced Julian Nagelsmann following his resignation after Germany’s unexpected exit from the World Cup against Paraguay.
During his inaugural press conference, Klopp emphasized that he would not hesitate to resign if journalists failed to respect his private life. He noted that while he views this position as the peak of his coaching career, his personal boundaries remain non-negotiable. His current agreement spans through the 2030 World Cup.
Klopp described his return to management as a natural progression, despite his previous departure from Liverpool due to exhaustion. He acknowledged the immense scale of the national team role, admitting that the reality of the position is only just becoming clear to him. His debut match will take place on September 24, when Germany faces the Netherlands in the Nations League.
