President Bola Tinubu announced on Thursday that Nigeria has entered a prosperous new chapter, citing the successful implementation of key economic reforms that have brought stability to the nation. During a meeting with a high-level delegation from the Northeast, led by Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, the President credited state leaders for their essential partnership in these achievements.
The delegation featured various influential figures, including governors, deputy governors, traditional rulers like the Shehu of Borno, and political veterans such as Ambassador Babagana Kingibe. Tinubu urged these leaders to continue fostering unity, particularly in the ongoing fight against regional security threats like terrorism and banditry. He emphasized that the government is actively clearing past debts, including unpaid pensions, to restore social welfare.
Governor Zulum expressed the delegation’s gratitude for the President’s leadership, specifically highlighting infrastructure projects like the Akwanga-Maiduguri expressway. He affirmed the Northeast’s support for the Tinubu-Shettima ticket heading into the 2027 election. Ambassador Kingibe echoed this sentiment, noting that the region remains committed to the President’s vision for national progress and democratic stability.
