The Manchester Super Giants secured a convincing seven-wicket victory over the London Spirit in The Hundred, chasing down a target of 81 runs in only 59 balls. Ryana MacDonald-Gay led the bowling attack for Manchester, finishing with impressive figures of 4-17. The Spirit struggled throughout their innings, managing only 80 runs before being bowled out with nine balls remaining.
London Spirit’s batting collapse began early as both openers, Grace Harris and Amy Jones, fell cheaply. Despite Marizanne Kapp scoring a team-high 17, the Spirit never found momentum. Manchester captain Charlie Dean was run out for 14, and MacDonald-Gay finalized the collapse by dismissing Katie George.
In response, the Manchester Super Giants—formerly known as Manchester Originals—chased the total with ease. Although Marizanne Kapp took two quick wickets, including Smriti Mandhana and Grace Scrivens, Paige Scholfield and Richa Ghosh guided the team to victory. Scholfield sealed the win in style by hitting consecutive boundaries.
