The 26-year-old defender, who participated in 58 matches for the Gunners, noted that while leaving was difficult, she felt the timing was right for a new challenge.
The primary motivation behind her transfer was the influence of West Ham manager Rita Guarino. Codina was impressed by the Italian manager’s transparency and vision for the team’s growth. Under Guarino, who arrived midway through the previous season, West Ham is aiming to refine its style of play and increase tactical organization, focusing on both defensive stability and improved ball possession.
