Former acting chairman of the Rivers State Peoples Democratic Party, Robinson Ewor, has stated that Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s recent decision to fire the Secretary to the State Government and the Chief of Staff stemmed from a prior arrangement with Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.
Governor Fubara dismissed SSG Benibo Anabraba and Chief of Staff Edison Ehie on February 26. During a Thursday appearance on Arise TV, Ewor explained that these firings were part of the terms reached between Wike and Fubara following the state of emergency declared by President Bola Tinubu.
Ewor further claimed that the governor committed to several conditions during these discussions, including the removal of those specific officials. He also alleged that Fubara promised not to pursue a second term in office, accusing the governor of being deceptive toward his supporters. Recently, the governor declared his return to Wike’s political fold and urged his followers to support the Minister’s chosen candidates in upcoming elections.
