Renowned Nigerian actress Bukky Wright has opened up about her choice to depart from the entertainment industry and move overseas to focus on her children. The 59-year-old performer, once a staple of the Nollywood scene, confirmed she has no remorse regarding the pivot she made during the mid-2010s. Wright expressed a need to apologize to her audience, noting she failed to notify them before her departure. She prioritized her maternal duties, as her children were living abroad and required her presence. She firmly believes she made the right choice to put their development ahead of her professional ambitions.
After a significant hiatus, Wright returned to acting in January 2025 for the project Something About the Briggs. She also addressed the revival of her 2008 film, Omotara Johnson, explaining that she acted in response to repeated fan requests. While filming her comeback, she chose to remain silent to ensure the project developed privately. She stated that keeping her plans quiet was a successful strategy. The actress now plans to remain in the industry, marking her full return to the screen.
