Isa Ashiru, the Kaduna State governorship candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has successfully unified the party’s warring factions, effectively ending the internal leadership struggle. A three-hour meeting held at his office served as the platform for this resolution, gathering key stakeholders and competing chairmen.
Attendees included Elder Patrick Ambut, Ben Bako, Tijjani Mustapha, Bege Katuka, and Zonal Vice Chairman Hajiya Hafsat Baba. Following the talks, Elder Ambut praised Ashiru for his leadership, noting that the agreement to cooperate marks a significant shift for the party as it looks toward the 2027 elections. He stated that the factional divide is officially finished, with all members focused on future electoral success.
Tijjani Mustapha characterized the gathering of 11 party officials as both peaceful and constructive, promising that a formal statement on the agreed resolutions will be released shortly. Meanwhile, Ben Bako confirmed the end of the crisis and mentioned that steps are being taken to handle remaining legal issues. He emphasized that the event demonstrated true leadership by bringing members together toward shared objectives. This unity is anticipated to fortify the ADC’s position and improve its readiness for upcoming political challenges in Kaduna.
