To celebrate Prince George’s 13th birthday, Kensington Palace has unveiled a fresh photograph of the young royal. The image, captured by photographer Matt Porteous at Kensington Palace, was taken shortly after the Trooping the Colour event last month. The official social media announcement included a celebratory greeting: “Happy 13th birthday, George!” accompanied by a party popper emoji.
As the eldest child of the Prince and Princess of Wales, George is currently second in line to the British throne. Reaching his teenage years marks a significant transition for the prince, who is scheduled to begin his secondary education this September. He will attend Eton College, an exclusive private institution, following the path taken by his father, Prince William, as well as his uncle, Prince Harry, and great-uncle, Earl Spencer.
Upon enrolling at Eton, George will reside in one of the school’s 25 boarding houses, where approximately 55 students are supported by dedicated residential staff. This shift follows his time at Lambrook School in Berkshire, where he was a student alongside his siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. In preparation for his future duties, the young prince has increasingly participated in public life. Recent appearances include joining his parents at Wimbledon, attending the official birthday parade for the King, and assisting his father with a homeless charity during the holiday season.
