Kaylee Hottle, an 18-year-old performer known for her roles in the Godzilla movie franchise, passed away early Tuesday following a vehicular accident in Maryland. Local authorities confirmed the tragedy occurred when a 1995 Honda Accord left the road and hit a culvert.
The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office reported that the incident happened around 2:52 a.m. Preliminary findings suggest that high speed played a role in the crash. Hottle was rushed to a medical facility, where she was declared deceased. The 19-year-old driver was treated for injuries deemed non-life-threatening, while a second passenger did not require medical care.
Hottle, a deaf actress, gained prominence as Jia in Godzilla vs. Kong and its successor, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. Her work earned her a 2024 Saturn Award nomination for Best Performance by a Younger Actor. Her father, Joshua Hottle, announced the news via a video shared on Facebook. The Texas School for the Deaf, where Hottle was enrolled, expressed deep grief over the loss and requested privacy for the family as officials continue their investigation.
