Law enforcement in Niger State has apprehended four individuals across two distinct operations. During these actions, officers seized three imitation firearms, sixteen bank cards, and a vehicle reported stolen from the Lapai region.
SP Wasiu Abiodun, the spokesperson for the command, stated that police patrols stopped Zaradeen Sani and Yakubu Abdullahi near the M.I. Wushishi Estate in Minna on July 14. Upon inspection of their tricycle, officers found the plastic pistols and several bank cards. Although the men claimed the cards were discarded items found in Lagos, investigators believe they were using the fake guns to intimidate and rob local residents.
In a separate development, the Niger State police received two suspects from their counterparts in Kano. Dauda Saidu and Hassan Aliyu admitted to taking a Volkswagen in the Lapai area roughly half a year ago. The suspects purportedly transported the vehicle to Kaduna to utilize it for public transit and illicit activities. Authorities have successfully recovered the automobile and are working to locate its original owner. The State Criminal Investigation Department is currently managing both inquiries.
