General Christopher Musa (Rtd), the Nigerian Minister of Defence, has officially denied widespread speculation that he intends to resign due to ongoing security challenges. This clarification was provided on Monday via a formal statement released by his spokesperson, Leah Katung-Babatunde.

Addressing recent media reports suggesting he had offered his resignation, General Musa labeled the claims as entirely manufactured. He characterized the rumors as malicious attempts to distract from his current responsibilities. The statement asserted that the minister is fully committed to his national security mandate and continues to lead the country’s defense strategy, noting that tangible progress is already evident.

The ministry called upon the public to ignore these falsehoods. Furthermore, officials urged media organizations and online users to stop circulating unverified reports and to contact the minister’s office directly for accurate information.
