Two Farmers Murdered in Plateau State Ambush

Two farmers were killed in separate ambushes in Takkas community, Pankshin LGA, raising security concerns among local residents during the busy farming season.

In the Takkas community of Pankshin Local Government Area, Plateau State, two farmers were fatally ambushed in separate incidents. According to reports, the victims were attacked while tending to their crops on Sunday and Monday.

Rt. Hon. Dewan Gabriel, who represents the Pankshin North Constituency in the state assembly, verified the tragedy. One victim was killed on Sunday, and the second attack occurred on Monday evening. Their bodies were relocated to the General Hospital in Pankshin and a local Christian hospital.

These violent events have sparked significant alarm within the region. With the current agricultural season at its height, many locals are now hesitant to return to their fields. Gabriel condemned the acts as senseless and barbaric, urging security forces to track down and prosecute the perpetrators.

While expressing his condolences to the affected families, the lawmaker encouraged residents to remain composed and assist investigators with any relevant information. Authorities have yet to provide an official statement regarding the situation.
