African Democratic Congress (ADC) leader Kenneth Okonkwo has criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC), labeling it a political entity built on propaganda. Okonkwo asserts that the APC secured victory in 2015 by systematically disparaging former President Goodluck Jonathan.
Writing on the social media platform X, Okonkwo highlighted the role of former Information Minister Lai Mohammed in orchestrating a campaign that painted Jonathan as corrupt, inept, and insensitive. He noted that the former president faced intense backlash for security challenges in the North-East and his decision to cut fuel subsidies.
Okonkwo contrasted this with Jonathan’s character, describing him as a fair leader who refused to persecute his political adversaries. The ADC chieftain pointed out that despite the harsh rhetoric, Jonathan famously stated that no political ambition was worth the life of a Nigerian citizen. Ultimately, Jonathan conceded defeat to Muhammadu Buhari with grace, even congratulating him before the final tallies were confirmed.
