Burna Boy and Shakira Rehearse for World Cup Final Halftime Show

Burna Boy and Shakira were spotted rehearsing at MetLife Stadium for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup final halftime show, where they will perform the official tournament anthem.

Afrobeats icon Burna Boy and Colombian pop star Shakira have met up again as they finalize preparations for the first-ever FIFA World Cup final halftime show. On Friday, Burna Boy posted a video on X featuring the two artists sharing a friendly interaction during rehearsal sessions at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium. The Grammy-winning performer captioned the footage with excitement for the upcoming Sunday event.

The two stars were photographed in casual attire outside the stadium’s production trailers. They are set to perform Dai Dai, the official 2026 FIFA World Cup anthem, during a unique performance modeled after the Super Bowl halftime show. To accommodate this entertainment segment, the typical 15-minute halftime break will be extended to 30 minutes, allowing time for both standard match analysis and the 11-minute musical showcase.

FIFA has unveiled a star-studded roster for the event, which includes appearances by Madonna, Justin Bieber, BTS, Coldplay, Gustavo Dudamel, and the PS22 Chorus, with special guests from Sesame Street and The Muppets. The spectacle aims to promote international education initiatives for children. The final match will feature Argentina and Spain competing for the title. Burna Boy and Shakira previously debuted the anthem at the tournament’s opening ceremony held in Mexico City.
