Peacemaker Killed While Attempting to Stop Fight in Adamawa
A resident of Sina Kwande in the Michika Local Government Area of Adamawa State, Markus Dali, tragically lost his life while attempting to mediate a fight between two individuals.
The incident unfolded during a heated dispute between Barka Yama and Alex Z. Tari, prompting Dali to step in to settle the situation.
Witnesses reported that during the confrontation, Barka allegedly struck Dali, resulting in him falling unconscious.
Despite immediate efforts to rush him to a hospital, he was later pronounced dead. This unfortunate turn of events has left the local community in shock and mourning.
In the wake of Dali’s death, the 32-year-old suspect, Barka, has been arrested and charged with culpable homicide under Section 191 of the Penal Code.
During proceedings at a magistrates’ court in Yola, the prosecuting officer, ASP Francis Audu, recounted the details of the incident, emphasizing that Dali’s intention was to help resolve the conflict but ultimately met with a fatal blow from Barka.
