Dominik Szoboszlai Commits to Long-Term Liverpool Future

Midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai has signed a new five-year contract with Liverpool, pledging his long-term future to the club following a standout season.

Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai secured a five-year contract extension this Friday, effectively silencing rumors about his departure. Although the Hungarian international had two years left on his previous agreement, his impressive performance last season earned him this upgraded deal.

While reports suggested that discussions between the player’s management and sporting director Richard Hughes had previously stalled, recent progress led to a successful agreement. Szoboszlai expressed immense pride in the commitment, noting that this moment ranks among the top three milestones of his career.

The midfielder remains driven to achieve silverware, reiterating his ambition to win every available trophy, including the Champions League. His decision to remain at the club serves as a significant endorsement for new manager Andoni Iraola, who recently took over after Arne Slot was dismissed.

Since arriving from RB Leipzig in 2023, the 25-year-old has become a vital component of the Liverpool squad. Last season, he recorded 13 goals and 12 assists across 53 appearances, marking the first time a Liverpool midfielder achieved such double-figure stats since Steven Gerrard in the 2013-14 campaign. His efforts also resulted in him being named the club’s fan-voted player of the year.
