Slavko Vinčić Selected to Officiate 2026 World Cup Final Between Spain and Argentina

FIFA has confirmed that Slavko Vinčić will referee the 2026 World Cup final match between Argentina and Spain at MetLife Stadium.

FIFA has named Slovenian official Slavko Vinčić as the lead referee for the upcoming 2026 World Cup championship match featuring Spain and Argentina. Assisting him on the sidelines will be Tomaž Klančnik and Andraž Kovačič. The match, hosted at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, will also feature Adham Makhadmeh from Jordan serving as the fourth official.

This final appearance marks the fourth time Vinčić has managed a game during this tournament. His previous assignments include group stage matches between Brazil and Morocco as well as Jordan and Algeria. Additionally, he oversaw the Round of 32 fixture involving Mexico and Ecuador, a game notable for his dismissal of Ecuadorian defender Piero Hincapié following the application of the anti-discrimination policy known as the Vinícius Law.
