The FIFA World Cup trophy is set to reach the final match between Argentina and Spain housed within a custom-made Louis Vuitton case. This presentation continues the established collaboration between the French luxury label and international football’s governing organization.
Reports from Reuters indicate that the bespoke carrier, which was introduced in New York this past Thursday, will deliver the trophy to the New York-New Jersey Stadium. Argentina, the current titleholders, will compete against Spain in the 2026 championship event.
The artisan-crafted case displays the iconic monogram canvas, brass corners finished in gold, and a prominent gold letter V, which symbolizes both Victory and the brand name. The inside features beige leather lining along with a patch noting the alliance between the two entities. This marks the fifth time the brand has produced the official trophy case for the men’s tournament.
Pietro Beccari, Chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton, noted that the company and FIFA have maintained a focus on quality for more than ten years, anchored in the belief that sports unify people. The trophy, usually kept at the FIFA Museum in Zurich, is transported in this manner to uphold a long-standing tradition.
High-end fashion houses are playing a larger role in major sports. Louis Vuitton currently designs trunks for Formula One, while Tiffany & Co. has long produced the Vince Lombardi Trophy for the Super Bowl.
