Governor Dapo Abiodun has authorized the continuation of a one-day remote work policy along with a N10,000 monthly transport stipend for state workers covering July through September 2026. This directive was formalized in a circular released Thursday by Olanrewaju Saka, the Head of Service.
The policy aims to ease the financial strain on employees caused by rising fuel costs while encouraging high productivity. The government previously implemented this relief program from April to June. Employees are encouraged to balance this flexibility with their professional obligations to ensure consistent service standards.
Exceptions apply to the work-from-home provision. Staff working shifts, essential service providers including medical personnel, judicial employees, educators, security officials, political appointees, and various administrative directors remain excluded from the one-day off benefit to maintain necessary operational coverage.
