He also urged the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to step in regarding their delays.

On Sunday, October 13, Libyan officials followed through on their threat to mistreat the Super Eagles and the Nigerian delegation ahead of their upcoming qualifying match in Benina.

The plane meant to transport the Nigerian team to Benghazi was rerouted to a city two hours away, leaving the players stranded at Al Abraq airport for hours.

The players and their agents were confined to the airport’s arrival hall for an extended period and were not permitted to leave.

A video released on Sunday showed Nigerian players and officials attempting to resolve the situation at the airport in the North African nation.

The Super Eagles are set to face the last-placed Mediterranean Knights on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at the 10,000-capacity stadium in Benina, located 19 kilometers from Benghazi.
