Prince Adewole Adebayo, the Social Democratic Party presidential candidate for the 2027 election, has expressed his condolences following the passing of Rev. Dr. William Uzochukwu Okoye. The deceased was the General Overseer of the All Christians Fellowship Mission.
Adebayo honored the late cleric as a dedicated figure who championed peace, truth, and reconciliation in Nigeria. In a statement released Thursday, the candidate highlighted Okoye’s commitment to moral development and his efforts to unify the Christian community beyond traditional sectarian lines.
Okoye held numerous influential positions during his lifetime, including leading the Abuja chapters of both the Christian Association of Nigeria and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria. His service extended to federal roles, such as serving as chaplain at the Aso Rock Villa for two separate presidents and acting as a director for national social welfare within the Christian Association of Nigeria.
In addition to his pastoral work, he served on the National Political Reform Conference and the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission. Adebayo noted that the nation has lost an important leader whose legacy in faith and service remains impactful. The SDP candidate offered his sympathies to the grieving family and the broader religious organizations affected by this loss, celebrating a life dedicated to spiritual and public service.
