Sultan of Sokoto Urges Nigerians to Pray for Leaders, Regardless of Their Actions
The Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar III, has urged Nigerians to consistently pray for their leaders, even in difficult times.
He made this appeal during a Public Lecture and Special Book Presentation in honor of Professor Is’haq Oloyede at the University of Ilorin on Thursday, October 11.
Oloyede recently turned 70 and officially retired from the University of Ilorin.
The Sultan emphasized that Nigerians should refrain from cursing their leaders and instead pray for them, regardless of their shortcomings.
“Don’t curse your leaders, no matter how bad they may be, but pray for them. Never talk ill of your leaders. Even, if a leader is bad, pray for him,” he counselled.
“If you pray for him/her, Almighty God can make him/her turn a new leaf and make him/her a better person that you will enjoy.
“Don’t condemn your leaders. No matter how bad they are, pray for them.”
