A High Court in the Federal Capital Territory, located in Apo, has mandated the permanent surrender of N4.6 billion in jewellery to the Nigerian government. Additionally, 11 luxury vehicles valued at N4.3 billion, along with $50,000 and N30 million in cash, were seized from businesswoman Aisha Achimugu.
Justice Jude Onwugbuzie oversaw the proceedings and approved the final forfeiture request submitted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). During the ruling, the judge rejected the legal arguments presented by Achimugu.
This development follows a previous loss for Achimugu, who saw $13 million associated with her and her business, Oceangate Engineering Oil & Gas Ltd., seized by a Federal High Court order on March 25, 2026. The current court judgment solidifies the government’s claim to these high-value assets and cash reserves following an extended period of legal dispute with the anti-corruption agency.
