Francis Nwaze, who serves as the media assistant to Minister of Works David Umahi, has challenged critics to back up their accusations with verifiable facts. This demand arrives as the public investigation into the passing of 26-year-old physiotherapist Mary Habila at the minister’s home intensifies.
The death has led to widespread public outcry, with many citizens urging for an impartial inquiry. Concerned activists recently intervened to stop Habila’s planned funeral, insisting that an autopsy must be completed to clarify the cause of death.
In a social media statement released Wednesday, Nwaze pushed back against the criticism, labeling the accusations as empty claims likely driven by political motivations. He stressed that individuals have a burden of proof when leveling charges against others online. Furthermore, he suggested that political affiliations or outside influence might be driving the current discourse, noting that such positions do not excuse people from the obligation to provide actual evidence for their claims.
