Lagos State Police officers apprehended 22-year-old Olamide Suleiman in the Aguda district following a routine stop-and-search patrol. During the inspection on Adetola Road, authorities discovered substances believed to be Indian hemp and a locally manufactured pistol containing a live cartridge.
Under questioning, Suleiman claimed the firearm belonged to an associate known as Emir, who was staying at a nearby hotel. Police raided the identified room and secured a double-barrel gun, though the primary suspect had already escaped. Law enforcement officials are currently pursuing the fleeing individual and other members of his group.
Commissioner of Police Tijani Fatai praised the officers for their diligence and reaffirmed the department’s dedication to public safety.
