Five Abductees Freed by Soldiers in Zamfara Operation

Nigerian troops successfully rescued five kidnapped individuals after raiding a militant camp in Zamfara State’s Anka region during a recent security offensive.

Nigerian military forces successfully liberated five individuals following a raid on a suspected militant stronghold in the Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State. Members of Sector 2, Operation Fansan Yamma, executed the mission after obtaining intelligence regarding armed militants traveling on ten motorcycles between Kawaye and Tungan Kudaduku.

As reported by security analyst Zagazola Makama, soldiers intercepted the group and initiated a firefight. The militants retreated into the brush, leaving behind their base. Upon inspecting the site, troops discovered and rescued five hostages, all of whom were unharmed. These individuals are currently being stabilized and prepared for reunification with their relatives.

Military officials confirmed that troops remain stationed in the region to discourage any militant attempts to regroup. This engagement is a component of a larger regional push by Operation Fansan Yamma to eliminate insurgent bases and stabilize the North-West region.
