All Progressives Congress chieftain Ayekooto Akindele has openly criticized rapper Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, for his recent remarks regarding First Lady Remi Tinubu. During a television appearance on Arise TV, Falz attacked the First Lady for her recent suggestion that Afrobeats musicians should prioritize charity and small business support over purchasing luxury vehicles. Remi Tinubu made these comments in Lokoja last Saturday, noting that the government is facing significant pressure.
Falz rejected her stance, insisting that alleviating poverty remains a primary obligation of the government. He questioned the First Lady’s complaints about administrative pressure, referencing the administration’s ’emilokan’ campaign slogan as evidence that they actively sought their current positions.
In response to this, Ayekooto utilized his social media account to tell the rapper to quit talking nonsense. He suggested that Falz was not even the intended target of the First Lady’s message, as she specifically addressed artists like Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy. Ayekooto further mocked the rapper, claiming that Falz likely requires assistance himself as his music career struggles.
