Bandits have kidnapped Alhaji Isah Daya, the district head of Kanya in the Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

The attack occurred on Saturday, October 5, 2024, when the bandits stormed his village, also abducting eight others. During the incident, one person was killed and three others were injured.

Nafui Abubakar, spokesperson for the State Police Command, confirmed the attack and identified the deceased as Sherriff Alhaji Almu.

According to the PPRO, a combined security team led by the police has initiated a manhunt for the kidnappers to rescue the victims.

He also noted that the Kebbi State Government has provided the necessary logistics to combat banditry in the affected areas, particularly in Kebbi South and the Zuru Emirate.

This attack follows closely after bandits killed the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Suru Local Government Area of the state.
