The Oyo State Police Command has taken a suspected criminal into custody following an operation in Ibadan. Public Relations Officer Olayinka Ayanlade confirmed the arrest in a statement released on Monday.
Officers apprehended the individual, identified as Hammed Lateef, on July 11th in the Bodija district. During the encounter, two other suspects managed to escape on a motorcycle, while one suspect attempted to dispose of a bag in a nearby drain.
A search of the discarded bag revealed a locally made pistol, a live cartridge, and several sachets of suspected tramadol. Authorities also found a passport-sized photograph linked to one of the individuals who evaded capture. Police officials report that investigations are continuing as they work to track down the remaining suspects.
