Governor Mutfwang Appeals for Citizen Intelligence to Enhance Plateau Security

Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has called for increased public cooperation with security agencies and unveiled new vocational training and empowerment programs for women and youth.

Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has called on the public to provide security forces with reliable information to help reduce crime. He emphasized that maintaining safety is a shared responsibility that relies on the cooperation of local residents.

The governor spoke at a service held at COCIN Bukuru, Gyel. He encouraged attendees to remain alert and alert authorities to any suspicious behavior. Mutfwang stated that the state can only achieve lasting stability if citizens work hand-in-hand with law enforcement.

Beyond security, Mutfwang highlighted the importance of unity within the Church as a foundation for societal harmony. He urged the religious community to set an example by bridging tribal divides.

Regarding economic initiatives, the governor announced that the state has finalized funding for a World Bank-backed project aimed at training 90,000 women. This program focuses on teaching vocational and entrepreneurial skills to foster financial independence. Furthermore, the governor highlighted the ongoing efforts at the Mangu Widowhood Centre, noting that his administration is committed to protecting the rights and dignity of widows. He criticized the practice of stripping widows of their property and called for stronger family and community support systems. To encourage local growth, he pledged 10 million Naira to widows and invited 50 youths with business plans to apply for government startup grants.
