Senator Shuaibu Isa Lau, who represents the Taraba North Senatorial District, has officially rejected online reports claiming he sued the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Federal High Court in Jalingo. These rumors surfaced after a fake legal document emerged, suggesting the senator had taken legal action against his primary opponent, Kabiru Bello Badawaire, the APC, INEC, and returning officer Senator Dahiru Bako.
The circulating documents claimed the senator was seeking a judicial ruling to confirm his status as the party’s candidate for the 2027 general election. However, speaking in Jalingo over the weekend, Senator Lau labeled these claims as entirely fabricated. He emphasized that he had not initiated any legal proceedings against the party, his opponent, or the election organizers.
The senator urged the public and his supporters to ignore the misinformation, noting that it was likely designed to stir up instability within the party. He argued that taking legal action would be senseless, as he is already the confirmed winner of the primary and is recognized by INEC as the legitimate candidate. He encouraged his constituents to remain calm, reaffirming his dedication to his duties and his commitment to party unity.
