Super Falcons midfielder Toni Payne has expressed her enthusiasm regarding her move to the Italian Serie A. According to reports, the 31-year-old finalized her transfer to Inter Women on Saturday, departing from the English Women’s Super League side Everton.
Payne has committed to a contract running through 2028, concluding a two-year period with her previous English club. Having gained prior experience playing in Spain and the United States, she is now prepared to compete in another elite European division. Regarding the move, she noted on the club’s website that the league is highly competitive and she intends to highlight her specific skill set over the coming seasons.
A former youth international for the USA, Payne currently represents Nigeria. She is expected to play a role for the Super Falcons in the upcoming 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
