Temitope Ajayi, a spokesperson for President Bola Tinubu, has labeled Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Nigeria Democratic Congress, as a person who attempts to gain sympathy despite being at fault. This statement follows a public disagreement regarding an incident at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport in Abuja.
Peter Obi previously alleged that airport personnel unfairly clamped his vehicle to hinder his movements. In response, Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, demanded a public apology from Obi and the payment of a N25,000 fine. Keyamo stated that an official inquiry, supported by CCTV evidence, revealed that Obi’s vehicle was parked in violation of airport rules. According to the minister, footage from July 4, 2026, shows the police officer driving Obi’s vehicle left the car unattended in a restricted area after dropping off passengers.
Ajayi took to social media to urge Obi to retract his initial claims now that the evidence has been presented. He emphasized that the situation serves as a prime example of a guilty party trying to manipulate public perception.
